Our Opticians
A pediatric optician is a specialized optician who focuses on fitting glasses and contact lenses for children. They are trained to understand the unique needs and challenges associated with pediatric eyewear, including how to properly fit glasses on smaller faces, ensure the correct alignment of lenses for a child’s developing eyes, and select frames that are durable enough to withstand the active lifestyle of kids.

Carlos Aguilar, ABOC – Director
I started my ophthalmology journey in 1997, right after my time with the United States Marine Corps. I joined Pediatric Eye Specialists in 2005, and it’s been an exciting ride ever since.
As the Director, I aim to ensure we provide top-notch care and make a real difference in our patients’ lives. I hold an American Board of Opticianry Certification (ABOC), which helps me stay on top of the latest trends and technologies. I always look for new ways to enhance our practices and patient outcomes.
One of the things I’m most proud of is our initiative to launch a pediatric-only optical. This special focus is all about improving the patient experience and tailoring our care to meet the unique needs of kids.
When I’m not at work, you’ll likely find me enjoying various sports or firing up the grill. I love the balance these hobbies bring to my life and the chance to unwind and have fun.

I started with Pediatric Eye Specialists in 2010 and joined the SEO team in 2016. I’m also certified by the National Contact Lens Examiners. Working with children at SEO is particularly rewarding because I get to positively impact their vision and help them see the world more clearly. Witnessing their excitement as they experience improved sight and knowing that I contribute to their well-being is incredibly fulfilling.
Outside work, I enjoy reading a good book or spending quality time with family. I’m looking forward to serving you.

My journey into the optical industry began when my daughter started wearing glasses, and I saw firsthand the impact of personalized vision care. After gaining valuable experience with Pediatric Eye Specialists, I’m excited to bring my passion for eye care to Special Eyes Optical. The joy of seeing our patients see a brand new world with their first pair of glasses warms my heart. Alongside my dedication to helping clients and working with children, I also enjoy dancing and traveling in my free time.

As a longtime glasses wearer, I was thrilled to join Special Eyes Optical. Having worn glasses and undergone strabismus surgery as a child, I understand firsthand the challenges young patients face. I’m passionate about helping people find the perfect pair of glasses and ensuring every lens has that extra touch of antireflective coating for clearer, more comfortable vision. I especially enjoy fitting kids with glasses that make them feel confident and see the world in a new light. It’s all about helping people look and see their best!

After graduating from college, I began my first full-time job at SEO, where I found a rewarding role working with children and their families. As the eldest sibling in my family, I naturally love helping kids, especially when selecting the perfect pair of glasses. I take pride in guiding families through the process, ensuring the child and their parents feel confident in their choice. In my spare time, I’m passionate about fitness, nurturing my houseplants, and expressing my creativity through painting.

I’m passionate about working with kids, especially when fitting them with glasses. When I was younger, I remember being fascinated by how eye doctors made visits fun and engaging, inspiring me to enter this field. There’s something so rewarding about helping kids feel comfortable and confident with their vision, and I’m excited to bring that energy to my work.
When I’m not busy with work, I usually hang out with friends and family, enjoying the simple things in life. I’m looking forward to connecting with you and sharing more.
Alondra Lopez
I’ve been immersed in the optical world for over a year and have truly enjoyed every moment. One of my favorite parts of the job is seeing the excitement on kids’ faces when they get their new glasses. In my spare time, I love indulging in retail therapy, curling up with a good book and an iced matcha, and spending quality time with my nephews and my new niece.
